Here is what is so baffling especially now: all non-US contracts I’ve ever signed include a boiler-plate Force majeure clause, but those are clicked through faster than the legalese on a social media app, and this class of risk is rarely reflected in any of the planning exercises that these contracts pertain to.
And so, we were definitely in a position where we were having to put together constructs that allowed us to connect, legitimately connect, from, “here’s the strategic imperative” to, “here’s the hundreds of people “that are gonna be involved; how do we marry those up? You just went from director to CTO?
” However, note that many organizations are very project centric – such as construction, engineering, and consulting – so PM skills are core and critical. These positions are very high level, involve significant responsibility, and contribute to shaping the company’s direction.
This way, when you add a new resource you can tag their profile with all the relevant skills, so you can quickly find the right person for a job and run reports to support hiring decisions. Next steps: Look at your tech stack together with your CTO or an engineer to decide which tools need to talk to each other and how that will happen.
