Agile is a word that was added to the corporate dictionary two decades ago and is still relevant today. The Agile adoption rate increase from 37% in 2020 to 86% in 2021 has left the business world stunned. Amidst all the chaos, there is one designation that helps organizations realize their dream of Agile transformations. .
Large enterprises and government agencies increasingly turn to Agile for their software projects. This is a difficult shift, with many struggling to fit their new round agile pegs into their existing square waterfall holes. Cultural, structural, and procedural impediments make “being agile” a challenge.
Rubin Jen has been in the project management field for over 23 years, spanning aerospace, engineering, telecom, software development, outsourcing, consulting, not-for-profit and government sectors. Rubin obtained his Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) designation in 2007 and has been teaching Agile and Scrum to enterprise organizations since 2014.

So, is the answer for everyone to just use Agile methods? It’s easy enough to just pick up the Scrum Guide, obtain a certification and just try doing it. You hear from many in the Agile world – “it’s a mindset shift” This is absolutely true. Well, it’s not quite that simple.
