The PMBOK guide is a project management guide developed by PMI. Along with PRINCE2 and IPMA , it is one of the world's leading project management approaches. According to PMI, a project consists of the interaction of many processes. Previous editions of the guide took a strongly process-oriented approach.

In a new report from Strategy Execution, 86% of organisations which are delivering change through programmes and projects struggle to prioritise work streams and resources. There are further stats; 45% lack changemanagement skills; 29% have poorly resourced initiatives; 27% lack project management skills.
That comes from the 2017-2027 Project Management Job Growth and Talent Gap Report, which I referenced in our earlier guide to the best project management surveys. That’s way we need to place a high priority on both Project Definition from day 1, and excellent change control procedures subsequently.
PMI says 88 million people will be in project-related roles by 2027, so should I have a PMP to set me up for success? In my opinion, the PMP is good, but spend time learning strategy and changemanagement. If change is hard for you, agile practices will be too. Agile is a process. Processing… Success!
