The Project Management Institute (PMI) is the largest certifying body, with 1.6 PerpleCert acquired AXELOS, which provides training and owns the PRINCE2 and ITIL frameworks, for $525 million in 2021 and reported nearly $150 million in revenue in 2022. Most certifying bodies are privately held and do not disclose their financial data.
