The Project Management Institute (PMI) has been conducting surveys, questioning international organizations and project managers on a regular basis since 2006. In practice, around 60% of companies now offer their managers and employees training and certification courses to help them improve their project management skills.
There’s the self piece, self-awareness, self-management; and then looking at a team or looking at another person and recognizing what’s going on with those other people, and then trying to influence that. And in fact the ability to influence, which is an emotional competency, was one of the ones that came across in that.
It’s amazing, you go from, dabbling with Microsoft Project and introducing that and influencing that in Brazil. I would say PMI and other associates have a good influence on that. I left in 2006 when I decided to sell my shares. Fast-forward in 2022, you’ve been recognized as a PMI Fellow. And that’s just, that’s fantastic.
